“Life is short. We don't have much time to gladden the hearts of those who walk this way with us. So, be swift to love and make haste to be kind.”
―Henri-Frédéric Amiel
Care
Pastoral Care That’s Personal and Safe
Sometimes what we need most is simply someone — maybe even a pastor — who is safe to talk with, ask questions, and be heard. That’s what pastoral care is meant to be — a presence of support when life is meaningful, messy, or somewhere in between.
So you can bring your faith, your questions, your doubts, and your whole self here — without pressure or judgment. I’d be glad to walk with you, not to convince you of anything, but to explore a faith that becomes less fearful, more honest, steady, and freeing.
Care for Life’s Meaningful Moments
From births, to weddings, to hospice, to funerals, and to any other times in between when spiritual care matters most, I offer pastoral support to those both “inside” and “outside” the church.
Your Personal Pastor — “Rent-a-Rev”
Think of it as having a personal pastor when and where you need it — someone you can turn to in moments of joy, loss, or simply when you want a safe place to talk. Some even call it “Rent-a-Rev.”
In many ways, receiving this care can feel like having someone walk alongside you, much like a local chaplain — listening, caring, and being present with you, your family, and those you love, whether you’re connected to a church or not.
Not an official title — just a simple way of being present for people in Monticello and beyond who want pastoral care without pressure or pretense.
Ready for Care?
If you’re looking for a safe place to talk, ask questions, or find pastoral support, I’d love to be there for you.
Care Calls — A Gift of Listening
From time to time I offer free monthly Care Calls — 30-minute conversations where you can talk about anything: faith, mental health, or anything at all that’s on your mind or heart. Free listening — my gift to you, because you matter.
If a Care Call feels helpful to you right now and you’d like to book a call, you’re welcome to choose a time below. No pressure whatsoever — just space to be heard and really listened to.
